Easter 2015: The Floral Maxi

I'm back! It's been a minute since I've blogged an outfit and I had to post one for Easter. This lovely maxi was just $15 (orig $34!) at Old Navy.  The entire store was on sale this past weekend so i took advantage. I love maxi dresses. They're comfy and easy to throw on and go. I don't own anything with ruffles, and though I'm not a huge fan of them, these were still cute. Not too much detail so I can go with it. I paired it with white accessories cause it's Spring, duh! These cute sandals are from F21 as part of the Spring Break collection ($7) and my white stone necklace from Charlotte Russe.

I hope you all had a great Easter holiday!

A Victim of Social Media Identity Theft

A few months back, an Instagram follower told me about this girl and how she was using my pics for her own IG page. I found it, with 1 pic of mine being used as her main avatar. No other pics were posted and her account was locked. I shrugged it off as a no biggie. People use other peoples pics all the time. Right?!

This past Tuesday, my Instagram notifications flooded with new followers and comments. My FB likes were going up by the minute. "Why would anyone use MY pics?", I asked myself. At first I thought I had been featured on one of those black fashion-based IG pages, hence the hundreds of followers. But I couldn't find a tag, mention, anything. Then that's when the comments came. "You're trending in Kenya!" "You resemble Wanja Kavengi the famous Kenyan." "She had us Kenyans fooled. Could write really well though." I was flattered that anyone would even consider using my photos as their own.  Last night, I actually went to Google. This chick was supposedly a writer for the website Capital F.M but when contacted, they had no idea who they were talking about. Hmmmk.

The next link that came up was another entertainment site, Ghafla. This post was a tell-all about Wanja Kavengi, her family and friends, and how she ran her own website, A Horrible Little Blog Full of Little Horriblilities. Now of course, that blog link has seen its last of days. Nobody has heard from Wanja since. Apparently this has been going on for FIVE YEARS! Imagine having your pictures used as someone else's in another country for five years. Insane!

I've listed a link for another article below, as well as a SS's of her FB and IG.

Citron, Cobalt, & The Blanket Scarf

Happy Friyay! The weekend is finally here and most of us can enjoy it. Not me though. Duty calls.
Can I just mention that while I do enjoy having the cold weather here in FL, I could really go for some warm weather. It's been in the 60's one day, then down to the lower 50's for a couple days. It sucks, but I am trying to get the most out of my winter wardrobe while I still can. For example, this super cute blanket scarf that everyone and they mama has bought. It really is comfortable and warm! Not to mention the price was fantastic! (I posted a link to where I got mine below.)

I've been waiting to wear this color block combo for a minute now. And I'll most likely wear this outfit again. I can't get enough of it. Though FL is the Sunshine State, I have bought alot of winter accessories and apparel. I can't help it. I'll never know where I'll be moving next so maybe it's a good thing. Most of the items I haven't bought at full price. I've used a discount code, in-store coupon, it's on sale, or it's just insanely cheap!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
